From Heritage To High-Performance Bedding
At Thomas Bewick, our story begins with the man behind our name. Thomas Bewick was an internationally recognised British wood engraver, artist, and craftsman born in Northumberland in 1753. Known for his remarkable attention to detail and deep appreciation for nature, he became one of Britain's most respected wood artists and helped revolutionise the art of wood engraving.
Inspired by this heritage, we focus on producing high-quality timber products with the same commitment to care, precision, and natural quality. Our production includes premium timber materials and three-layer wooden panels, manufactured using carefully selected spruce wood.
During this manufacturing process, clean spruce sawdust is naturally produced as a by-product. Rather than allowing this valuable material to go to waste, we transform it into premium horse bedding wood pellets developed specifically for performance, comfort, and consistency.

At Thomas Bewick Woods, customer trust is our foundation. We are a small family business based in Milton Keynes, proudly working with local farm shops, stables, and horse owners across the UK. Together with our engineering and production teams at our factory in Turkey, we spent years refining and improving our pellets to create what we believe is one of the best horse bedding solutions available on the market today.
Unlike many pellets made from recycled or mixed waste wood, our bedding pellets are manufactured from 100% pure spruce sawdust generated during our own timber production process. The result is cleaner, more consistent bedding with excellent absorbency, low dust levels, and exceptional expansion performance.
